Integration with Application security - SAP R/3 improved logon

The extended functionality of MatchLogon makes it possible to use existing authentication technologies (the same as those that are implemented for Windows logon) to be used for signing on to the password protected applications. In this example, we discuss the SAP R/3 SAP Enterprise Portal. MatchLogon's simplified logon feature is completely integrated into the SAP password authentication system yet it does not require any changes to be made on the SAP servers. Replacing passwords with more reliable and more convenient authentication methods ensures better user acceptance and greater overall system security.

The MatchLogon integration of authentication with the SAP R/3 SAP Enterprise Portal provides the following additional benefits:

·                     Centralized administration of SAP R/3 user connections via connections templates;

·                     Centralized authentication audit;

Reduction of security risks by enforcing strong authentication (making it impossible to impersonate a user) and journaling all security events throughout the system.
